Fred has a broad range of expertise derived from more than 45 years in the property and casualty insurance and reinsurance industries. He served professionally as CEO of nationwide insurance and reinsurance companies.

He currently provides expert testimony in matters of insurance/reinsurance litigation and arbitrations, and serves as arbitrator for dispute resolutions (Certified by ARIAS-US).​ He also works with senior executives on leadership, organizational development and strategy.

branch for “run-off.”

Responsible for two-thirds of corporation’s $4.4 billion property/casualty business, encompassing all standard commercial and personal lines of business in the US, subsidiary companies in Canada and Hawaii, and a $460 million budget. 

• Developed and presented strategic, technological and operational plans to Board of Directors. Plans accepted and successfully implemented
• Returned company to profitability over three-year period. Maintained profitability for duration
• Reduced expense ratio by 5.4 points while increasing customer satisfaction from 84 to 96%
• Achieved position as #1 ranked writer of both commercial and personal package businesses in the USA

1987 - 1995

Fireman's Fund Insurance Company 
Executive Vice President and Member, Board of Directors

Responsible for $1.8 billion nationwide commercial insurance division. Directed personal and commercial corporate underwriting policies and practices as Chief Underwriting Officer. Managed $259 million innovative program to mass-market business written through a separate, controlled distribution system. Structured, negotiated and secured corporate reinsurance programs and treaties.
